Mission and Outreach

The Mission and Outreach Committee at First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield has historically supported a wide variety of local, national, and international causes to bring aid and comfort to those in need as we spread the good news of God’s everlasting love.

Beginning in July 2023, the monthly Deacons’ offering, which has always sponsored mission projects, will become the Mission offering. Donations will be coordinated by the Mission Committee with input from the congregation. If you would like to nominate an organization to support with hands-on service or a financial contribution, please complete this form or print this PDF version and return it to the Mission mailbox in the church office. ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MISSION:

St. Wilfrid’s Open Door Clinic: The Open Door Clinic provides food, diapers, baby wipes, hygiene supplies, box fans, gently used clothing, new socks and more to patrons every other Saturday. Bring donations to worship services on Sundays or leave in the bin at the back of Grace Episcopal Church (access from Tanner Street parking lot). 

Volunteers are needed to help with distribution, make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and assist with pick-up from the South Jersey Food Bank. Cooking for Joseph’s House: On the last Tuesday of each month from September through May, volunteers meet in the church kitchen to cook a sustaining meal that will be delivered to Joseph's House, a shelter that is working to engage people experiencing homelessness holistically and individually in gaining stability and control of their lives. Cooking takes places between 1 and 3 p.m. Bakers also are asked to drop off sweet treats in the kitchen on cooking days. Contact Caroline Yount at cnyount@gmail.com for more information.

Women’s Prison Ministry: Each Friday, a group of women from the church visits residents at the Women's Prison in Camden County to provide fellowship, prayer, and activities for the women. We are recruiting additional volunteers! The Camden County Department of corrections requires volunteers complete training before they can enter the prison and Covid vaccination is required.  Contact Judy Blank at jmblank451@verizon.net for more information. 

Service Nights for Middle and High School: On the first Sunday of each month during the school year, youth gather at the church to work on projects that assist those in need. Middle schoolers meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and high schoolers meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Pizza is served. Please email cnyount@gmail.com to register.  2023-2024 Service Nights are scheduled for:  October 1, December 3, January 7, February 4, March 3, April 7 and May 5 (subject to change).

MLK Day of Service: From 9 a.m. to noon on MLK Day, our church  hosts a morning of service for all ages.
