Why give?

• We give because we’re grateful. Everything we have is a gift from God. Sharing a portion of our resources with the church is a way to say “Thank you” to God for God’s many blessings.
• We give in obedience to God. In the Old Testament, the Israelites were commanded to give a tithe (10%) of their income to the worship and service of God. In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not regretfully or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Aim for a percentage that makes you happy. 
• We give because it makes a difference. Joyful worship lifts weary spirits. Ministries of compassion and justice feed the hungry, house the homeless, and offer much-needed hospitality to the stranger. All this takes money.
