Music Ministry

First Presbyterian Church is full to the rafters with enthusiastic music making. Programs are open to all children, youth, and adults of all musical backgrounds and skill levels. Choral and instrumental music form a key part of worship from week to week. The sanctuary houses a three-manual organ with 3,000 pipes, ranging in size from two inches to over 16 feet. Bell choirs play Whitechapel and Malmark bells.

Choir rehearsals and worship participation run from September through May. Click on age-level tabs to see descriptions and rehearsal schedules. Due to limited enrollment, we ask that those interested in bell choir contact Peter Leibensperger (PLeibensperger@haddonfieldpres.org), Minister of Music, before September 11th.

Children's Choirs

Cherub Choir (ages 4-5)

Our youngest vocal group, the Cherub Choir consists of children ages four and five. The Cherubs rehearse in Room 303 each Wednesday from 4:00 – 4:30 p.m., beginning in September. For more information, please contact Peter Leibensperger, Minister of Music.

Carol Choir (1st & 2nd grade)
The Carol Choir is a young vocal group for children in 1st and 2nd grade. They rehearse in Room 303 every Wednesday from 4:40 – 5:10 p.m., beginning in September. For more information, please contact Peter Leibensperger, Minister of Music.

Chapel Choir (3rd - 6th grade)
The Chapel Choir, consists of children in 3rd through 6th grade. Chapel singers rehearse in Fellowship Hall each Wednesday from 4:00 – 4:30 p.m., beginning in September. For more information, please contact Peter Leibensperger, Minister of Music.

Alleluia Bells (4th - 6th grade)
The Alleluia Bells is our beginning bell group, offered to children in 4th through 6th grade. They rehearse in the bell room next to the sanctuary every Wednesday from 4:40 – 5:10 p.m., beginning in September. If interested, please contact Peter Leibensperger, Minister of Music, prior to rehearsal due to limited enrollment.

Youth Choirs

Thomas Sherrerd Memorial Choir (7th - 12th grade)
Our most advanced youth vocal group, the Thomas Sherrerd Memorial Choir, consists of 7th- through 12th-grade students. Thomas Sherrerd singers rehearse in Fellowship Hall every Wednesday from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m., beginning in September. For more information, please contact Peter Leibensperger, Minister of Music.

Whitechapel Bells (7th - 8th grade)
The Whitechapel Bells, our middle school bell group, rehearses every Wednesday from 5:20 – 5:55p.m., beginning in September in the bell room next to the sanctuary. If interested, please contact Peter Leibensperger, Minister of Music, prior to rehearsal due to limited enrollment.

Kirk Ringers (9th - 12th grade)
The Kirk Ringers, our high school bell group, rehearses every Wednesday from 7:30 – 8:15 p.m., beginning in September in the bell room next to the sanctuary. If interested, please contact Peter Leibensperger, Minister of Music, prior to rehearsal due to limited enrollment.

Adult Choirs

Chancel Choir

Our adult choir (college students and up), the Chancel Choir, participates in worship leadership on a regular basis and rehearses each Thursday from 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall beginning in September. For more information, please contact Peter Leibensperger, Minister of Music.

Moore Bells
Our adult bell group, the Moore Bells, rehearses in the bell room next to the sanctuary every Thursday from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m., beginning in September. If interested, please contact Peter Leibensperger, Minister of Music, prior to rehearsal due to limited enrollment.
